IHI continues to work in the south of Haiti.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, IHI continues to work on the ground in the south of Haiti with partners Jack Brewer and Haiti Air Ambulance as well as Haitian community groups. In the past couple of weeks, we have given out 550,000 water purification tablets and food to the people of Jeremie, Port a Piment and Dame Marie. Thanks to your donations, over $10,000 in medical supplies have been distributed to 12 clinics and hospitals located in the areas affected by the hurricane. We also continue to provide tetanus vaccines. In the coming days, we will continue to provide support to those who have experienced extensive damage to their homes. $17 buys a new tarp and $95 buys a new metal roof. As we continue to provide hurricane relief to those impacted by Hurricane Matthew, our staff in Tabarre and Cap Haitien are continuing to provide cancer care. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and IHI is seeking funds to support our current and future patients, as we continue to expand our comprehensive cancer program nationally.
